FINC 698: Directed Study
Prerequisites: MBA status and approval of the directed study supervisor, advisor, and the Dean of the Graduate School

Semi-autonomous independent research on an finance topic of interest to the student. Designed to provide the student with an opportunity to develop conceptual sophistication on a specific topic.
Detailed Description of Content of Course
A semi-structured research experience designed to allow the student to develop a research proposal and to investigate in greater detail topics of interest in Finance. The student will be expected to develop a written presentation on a topic selected in consultation with the directed study supervisor by using primary or secondary research sources.
Detailed Description of Conduct of Course
The course consists of independent research/study by the student from one or more of a variety of sources which may include primary and/or secondary works.
Goals and Objectives of the Course
At completion of course, student will demonstrate a greater understanding of a specific area of interest.
Assessment Measures
Assessment of the student's success is based primarily on the finished research report and periodic meetings with the supervising instructor.
