V. Course Description:
Examines the field of international development including economic development and governance assistance activities with attention to classic theories as well as current debates and innovative approaches.

VI. Detailed Description of Content of the Course:
This course is at the nexus of Comparative Politics and International Relations. Students study the issues involved in development, including international systemic features. They also learn to create professional development documents used in the administration of NGOs and international organizations.
VI. Detailed Description of Conduct of Course:
Examines ethical dilemmas in development work; reform proposals for the provision of international aid; Corporations and Assistance AND the Corporatization of Assistance; DIY Development; and Social entrepreneurship using a variety of media and pedagogical methods.
