Prerequisite: Graduate standing in Psychology or permission of instructor

Presents and evaluates the techniques used in industry for the training and motivation of personnel; examines psychological theories behind the techniques and issues involved in application of these techniques. Focuses on effects of training and motivation techniques on both job morale and job performance.

Detailed Description of Conduct of Course

An interactive approach in which students share the responsibility for analysis, interpretation, and application of theories and concepts.

 

Goals and Objectives of the Course

Students will be able -

 

1. To develop comprehension of the training model and its impact on motivation and performance.
2. To be able to develop and implement a training program.

 

Assessment Measures

Grades assignments may include in-class tests, a final examination, the assignment and presentation of group training projects, and class assignments.

 

Other Course Information

The instructor may use experiential exercises, videos, and other interactive activities to present application of specific concepts.
