THEA 450: Directing II
Prerequisites: THEA 227, THEA 327, and THEA 350; or permission of the instructor
Credit Hours: (3) Two hours lecture; two hours laboratory
The study of various significant figures and theories of stage production. Students are required to complete a final advanced project for public presentation of a one-act play. A final portfolio is also required.

The purpose of the course is to give students advanced instruction in the directing of plays.

Detailed Description of Conduct of Course
This will be a very structured and demanding course with a great deal of outside rehearsal required of the students. The students in this course will be directing other students, so their maturity and responsibility is also being tested and judged.
Goals and Objectives of the Course
At the conclusion of the course the student will have directed the production of an assigned one-act play in a structured and supervised manner.
Assessment Measures
Each of the steps in section B will be assessed and graded.
