ADA housing accommodations are used by individuals who would be unable or have substantial difficulty attending the university without ADA housing accommodations.
Please remember, as a four-year residential college, learning to live in a community and share space with others is an integral part of student’s educational experience.
Students with documented disabilities can apply for ADA housing accommodations at Radford University and at our Roanoke learning loaction. (CAS does not exempt students from housing contracts.)
The ADA Housing Application Packet is separate from the Housing and Residential Life Boarding Policy and Housing and Residential Life Student Agreement. Please be sure all Housing and Residential Life applications and procedures have been complete. Contact the Office of Housing and Residential Life if you have questions.
Completed ADA Housing Packets will be submitted to the CAS Medical Housing Review Committee. If additional follow-up is required, a CAS Access Specialist will contact the student or the provider. The committee will carefully review the information provided and will determine a decision.
We will notify you by email with the CAS Medical Housing Review Committee's decision.
If you are approved for a housing accommodation, we will send the Committee's decision to you and the Office of Housing and Residential Life, who will provide you with a room assignment that meets the accommodation(s).
Radford University requires all students living on campus or in University-owned apartments off campus to purchase a meal plan. CAS does not provide an accommodation for exempting students from purchasing a meal plan.
Students with dietary issues should first visit the Dining Services Dine on Campus webpage and self-identify with Dining Services regarding dietary allergies and needs. Students should work with the University Dietician or University Chef, to ensure that their needs are being met. Dining Services works well with all Radford Students to provide a variety of safely prepared meals.
Students with medical disability dietary needs that fall under the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Act, should apply for services with CAS. We provide accommodations on a case-by-case basis, after referring students to Dining Services.
