The Virginia Talent and Opportunity Partnership (V-TOP) works collaboratively with institutions, students, and employers to increase connectivity through the development of readiness resources and innovative engagement solutions to foster internship opportunities for Virginia students.

A top concern of Virginia employers is access to an adaptive, well-trained workforce. Additionally, the benefits of internships and other work-based learning experiences on workplace readiness and career development cannot be overstated. It is important for employers to offer these opportunities to build their talent pipelines and provide an educational pathway to a career.

Courses for Employers: How to Develop and Internship Program

Radford University Center for Career and Talent Development cordially invites employment recruiters to partner with us to provide career, internship, and other experiential opportunities for Radford University students and alumni. Please note our interview times begin at 8:30 a.m. and must end at 5 p.m.

EMPLOYER EXPECTATIONS

Employment recruiters who wish to make use of the assistance, services and/or facilities must comply with Radford University Code of Ethics, Nondiscrimination Policies, Radford University Job & Internship Posting Standards and adhere to employment laws and principles of professional practice, as outlined by the federal government and The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Principles for Professional Practice.

Students using the Center for Career and Talent Development Center are advised of their rights under federal law, and of the method for filing a complaint with the appropriate agency. Each interviewer should be familiar with the Radford University Center for Career and Talent Development Center recruiting guidelines as well as the equal employment provisions of federal law.

RADFORD UNIVERSITY CENTER FOR CAREER AND TALENT DEVELOPMENT CENTER: JOB & INTERNSHIP POSTING STANDARDS

Organizations wishing to recruit students and alumni of Radford University using Handshake or other electronic or print-media posting can do so free of charge. All submissions to Radford University Center for Career and Talent Development services and community engagement job and internship databases are reviewed and approved/rejected based upon the information contained in the postings.

Postings must adhere to the following criteria:

• All jobs and internships posted should be relevant for candidates pursuing or already possessing a university degree.
• All recruiters must follow the NACE Principles for Professional Practice for Employment Professionals and for Third-Party Recruiters. Third-Party Recruiters that charge fees to students will not be permitted access to career services. 
• Internship postings must meet the definition and criteria established for internships by the NACE Position Statement on U.S. Internships and internship providers are encouraged to review the US Department of Labor Internships Programs Under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
