The Radford University Center For Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) is located
on the second floor of McConnell Hall on the Radford University main campus. CITL
is a resource for faculty and students to elevate their teaching, learning and professional
development experiences. CITL is staffed by education professionals with backgrounds
in instructional design, active learning, faculty development, inclusive pedagogy,
K12 outreach, fiber/arts making and media production. CITL staff regularly consult
with faculty on a variety of teaching and learning topics, and programs such as LIFT,
RISE, Our Turn, book groups, and self-service online courses in Resilient And Flexible
Teaching, Backward Course Design, and Creating Accessible Documents feature the collective
goal of equipping faculty with tools, knowledge and experience to accomplish their
teaching and learning goals.
CITL maintains on-site collaborative and development spaces including a meeting lounge,
modular classroom (iLab), Makerspace (Workshop) and the Studio One production space.
These facilities are staffed by CITL student interns as well as CITL staff, and are
available on an appointment basis for both class-related activities and professional
development. Check out the Creative Initiatives and Spaces area of the site to learn
more about these spaces, as well as the ‘How To’ page under ‘Our Mission’ for info
on scheduling a consultation or appointment.
