Student Testing at Radford University at Carilion

In this section, you’ll find the important information you need to know about testing centers and policies for exams.

Instructors: Submit a Proctor Request form.

On campus testing is held at the Educational Testing Center (ETC), which is a 32-station
computer lab. Instructors will notify students if testing in the ETC is required. Students
must schedule an appointment to take an exam at the ETC. (see below)

ETC Location: Room 509, Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital (CRCH)
Hours: The lab is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Testing Hours
Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. During posted testing hours, access to the lab will be limited.

Testing Appointments
The ETC proctors tests by appointment only. If you need to test in the ETC, please schedule an appointment through Starfish no later than 24 hours before your exam.

Students should be aware of and follow these guidelines related to testing in the ETC:

• Tests are monitored using Faronics software.
• Students must show picture IDs each time they test.
• Tests can be set up using Lockdown Browser.
• LockDown Browser will prevent students from accessing other websites or
  applications; students will be unable to exit their tests until all questions are
  completed and have been submitted for grading.
• Any questions related to test content, grading, and deadlines should be directed to the instructor of the course.
• Only specified supplies and materials from instructors are allowed in the testing lab. There must be prior approval from instructors communicated to the ETC if
  additional supplies and materials are allowed in the testing lab.
• No mobile devices, phones, or smartwatches are allowed in the testing room.
• Conversing with others is prohibited during testing.
• Students using Respondus Monitoring will be recorded during testing to ensure
  academic integrity.
• Respondus Monitoring is a software program that records students' video and audio during online exams using a webcam. If any suspicious activity is detected, it is flagged for instructor review.
