Student Assistants and Student Fellows
- Tyler Blalock is pictured here with Dr. Rachel Santos at the 31st Annual International Problem-Oriented Policing Conference held in Boulder, CO in August 2023. Tyler was a graduate student fellow in the center and recently started a position as a crime analyst with the Charlottle-Mecklenburg, NC Police Department. She was a criminal justice major/crime analysis and criminal intelligence minor ('21) and earned an MS in criminal justice with and a graduate certificate in crime analysis ('23).
- Trey Bussey was a criminal justice major/crime analysis minor ('20) and earned his MS in criminal justice and a graduate certificate in crime analysis ('22). Trey served as a graduate teaching fellow and taught four sections of the department's policing course. His research focuses on crime analysis, police officer health and safety, as well as police use of force. He started the Ph.D. program in criminal justice at University of Nebraska, Omaha in fall 2022 and works in the VIPR (Violence Intervention and Policing Research) Lab.
- Tayler Hover is a crime analyst with the Raleigh, NC Police Department. Tayler worked on several research projects in the Center related to community policing and criminal intelligence analysis systems. She was a criminal justice major/crime analysis and criminal intelligence minor ('20) and earned an MS in criminal justice with and a graduate certificate in crime analysis ('22).
- Dana Ours (BA May 2023), Student Fellow and "Research Rookie," worked with Dr. Rachel Santos to develop a police guidebook on the problem of and police response to "Theft and Burglary of Firearms from Vehicles and Residences." They are pictured here at Radford University's Student Engagement Forum in Spring 2022 where Dana presented on her poster.
