Radford University Art Museum (RUAM) strives to provide an environment in which students,
as well as other members of the university community and the general public, can study
and learn by directly experiencing works of art. The museum promotes visual literacy
as part of a broader, comprehensive education for all patrons. Furthermore, its goal
is to enhance the visitor's understanding of world cultures throughout history and
of art as an enduring human endeavor. To this end, the museum tries to exhibit, study,
interpret, acquire, and preserve works of art of the highest quality in a variety
of media that represent cultures and artistic styles found throughout the world.
