Doctor of Physical Therapy Early Assurance Program

The Radford University Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) Early Assurance program is designed to offer a select number of talented high school seniors admitted to undergraduate majors at Radford University a direct pathway toward admission into the Radford University D.P.T. program.

The D.P.T. Early Assurance program is one of three in Virginia and the only public institution that offers qualified Radford University undergraduate students the option to reserve a spot as a freshman.

Meet Early Assurance Requirements: Reserve Your Seat

Meet at least 2 of the following:

1. Achieve a 3.7 weighted high school GPA
2. Combined 1100 SAT (or 24 ACT) score
3. Achieve a grade of B or higher in at least one AP, IB, or Dual Enrollment Course       

Early Assurance D.P.T. Admission Requirements: Keep your seat

• Cumulative 3.5 GPA by junior year.
• Maintain GPA of 3.4 or higher for prerequisite courses by the end of the summer following the junior year
• Complete at least six of the nine prerequisite courses (34 credit hours) by the end of the summer following your junior year.
• A maximum of 3 prerequisite courses may be repeated
• Up to two courses may be taken at other universities/colleges or if earned with “dual enrollment” credits
• Be an active member of the Radford University Undergraduate Physical Therapy Club.
• Complete a minimum of 40 hours of observation of physical therapy practice, or equivalent volunteer work or employment by the end of the summer following your junior year.

Important Deadlines

• Preferred application due dates by December each year with decisions by January
• Rolling admissions thereafter with decisions by March each year
