We all need strength and resilience to overcome and grow from the tough events life brings us. I've learned that from personal experience. On October 15, 1994, I lay near death on a Brooklyn street after being hit by a car. I spent the next three months in hospital and the next two years on crutches. Twenty-four years later, on the same date in 2018, I again lay near death, brought down by leukemia. The love of family and friends helped me recover from both events. I changed profoundly, in many ways for the better, and found new paths for my life.

Join CITL staff and colleagues for our weekly writing jam. Treats and coffee will be available, as will the companionship and encouragement of fellow writers. Bring your notebook or laptop and expect to make progress on that article, grant proposal, or poem!
