The safety of our campus community remains our highest priority. All attendees for the Graduate Hooding Ceremony and the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony should be prepared to go through a security screening before entering the commencement venues. The OpenGate security system allows for efficient and non-invasive screening, helping to maintain a safe environment while minimizing delays. In addition, we are partnering with an event security contractor to assist in this effort, and they will be dressed in green if you require assistance or need help.
To further enhance security and expedite entry, Radford University will continue to enforce a clear-bag policy for all guests. All guests, including faculty and staff, should be prepared to go through the OpenGate security screening before entering the commencement venues. Please review the following guidelines as you prepare to attend the event.
The security screening and clear-bag policy will be in place for the Graduate Hooding and Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 9, in the Dedmon Center and the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 10, on Moffett Lawn. No items can be left or stored at the doors or gates.
