All Radford Employees must complete the State Mandated Training requirements as set forth by DHRM and are completed within the new employee orientation period of 30-90 days. These training requirements are completed and recorded in the Virginia Learning Center (VLC).
To complete your training, select the links below that. After selecting the link you will be required to provide your VLC login ID (newer VLC accounts use your whole State ID number, older VLC accounts drop the first two zeros of your State ID number) and your password. If you do not know your login ID or password please follow the prompts to have your login ID emailed to you or to have your password reset. Mandatory State Training for Employees
These mandatory Commonwealth of Virginia training sessions are required for all Classified
Staff, TR Faculty, AP Faculty, and 1500hr Wage Employees. These should be completed
within an employee's first 30 days of employment unless otherwise noted.

Additional Mandatory Training for Supervisors
These mandatory Commonwealth of Virginia training sessions are required for employees
who supervise a Radford University Full Time Employees The training is not required
for employees who only supervise wage or student workers. These training sessions
should be completed within thirty days of taking your position as a supervisor unless
otherwise noted.

Golf Cart Training
Please refer to the registration instructions before proceeding with the training.
The golf cart and utility vehicle safety training course is accessed through the D2L
platform. This training includes information on the City of Radford's Ordinance regarding
golf cart and utility vehicle use as well as a map of streets where golf cart or utility
vehicle use is permitted. Upon successful completion, the student receives a certificate
that can be printed and retained for documentation.

In addition to the training, you must review the Golf Cart Safety Handout, the City of Radford Ordinance and the authorized travel map.
Participants need to e-mail EHS at ehs@radford.edu with a copy of their certification and also their employee/student ID number. The information will be shared with Facilities Management which will serve as verification that is required for operating a golf cart or utility vehicle.

Passenger Van Training
Please refer to the registration instructions and the van protocol before proceeding with the training. The Passenger Van Safety Awareness Training course is accessed through the D2L platform. Upon successful completion, the student receives a certificate that can be printed and retained for documentation.

Certification remains current but it is strongly recommended that individuals drive a van for a minimum of 15 miles per year. Otherwise, the training should be retaken.

Statement of Economic Interest (SOEI) - Conflict of Interest Training
If you have been notified that your position at Radford University requires you to file an Annual Statement of Economic Interest (SOEI), this training is mandatory at least once every two years.
