Fall Dance Fest 2016

The Radford University School of Dance & Theatre presents a concert of dance as part of the university’s family weekend.  Fall Dance Fest features original choreography by Department of Dance faculty Deborah McLaughlin, Inessa Plekhanova, Amy VanKirk and danah bella. Spend the evening with us enjoying innovative choreography highlighting a wide variety of dance genres including Modern Dance, Classical Ballet and Jazz.

The Nutcracker,

Friday, Nov. 11 – Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 12 – Sunday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m.
Bondurant Auditorium, Preston Hall

The Radford University Ballet Theatre presents The Nutcracker, a holiday favorite for the entire family. Inessa Plekhanova, ballet professor and Artistic Director of Radford University Ballet Theatre, will stage this year’s production with assistance from Radford University dance faculty Aleksey Plekhanov. This magical work, performed to the enchanting Tchaikovsky score, will feature internationally recognized guest artists and premier a new set that will transport you to a land of rapture and charm.  Please join us for a “Children’s Tea with Clara and Friends” immediately following Sunday’s matinee performance (for ticket holders only; reservation required by calling 540-831-6850).

Dancing on the Edge

Jump into spring, experience a broad spectrum of movement styles and diverse musical selections at the School of Dance & Theatre's annual Dancing on the Edge concert. Guest choreographers and the Department of Dance faculty create dance works especially for seasoned dance majors.
