The Office of Affirmative Action provides oversight of the university’s affirmative action efforts and works in concert with departments to ensure adherence to embracing diversity, equal opportunity, and affirmative action principles as they relate to the personnel practices and selection of employees at Radford University.
As a Federal Contractor (a recipient of federal funds) the University abides by the requirements as outlined in Executive Order 11246, 41 CFR 60-1, and 41 CFR 60-2 as revised and the Virginia Human Rights Act. These regulations prohibit discrimination against qualified individuals based on their status as protected veterans, or individuals with disabilities, and prohibit discrimination against all individuals based on their race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy or related conditions, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identify or national origin.
The office monitors the recruitment, employment, and personnel practices at Radford University to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and adherence to the university’s affirmative action program, and to measure the effectiveness of Radford University’s affirmative action plan.
